Board member Doug Stratton.
Lacy Jemmott brings a love of archeology and rock art, and extensive IT experience to the SHUMLA School Board of Directors.

Lacy Jemmott,
Treasurer

Lacy Jemmott is a native Texan.  She currently resides in Austin with her husband, Wayne, and son, Adam. Both support Lacy in her endeavors.  Adam is very good at finding rock art and once made a "deer person" puppet for a school project.

Lacy has many long-time ties to West Texas and the Del Rio area.  She was raised in Eldorado by her Mom and Dad, Janee and Tip Finley.  She and her two sisters, Summer and Ashley, spent many happy days on their grandparents' ranches learning to ride horses, work cattle, and "chop cotton."  Her ties to Del Rio include her father Oscar Gonzalez, former Sheriff of Val Verde County, and her Great-Grandfather, Sergio Gonzalez, County Judge. "I have so many cousins and other relatives that I don't even pretend to know them all."

Lacy's interest in archeology started when she was very young.  Her grandfather encouraged her to be curious about things.  She grew up on a ranch, and with him, was always looking for "arrow heads," fossils, old bottles, or interesting rocks.

She has been the Registrar for the Texas Center for the Judiciary since 1998 and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Texas Center's database, which includes tracking Continuing Judicial Education for supreme court, court of criminal appeals, court of appeals, district, county court at law, probate, and judges sitting by assignment.  Other responsibilities include coordinating information systems, tracking Continuing Education for court coordinators, tracking conference information, providing statistics, and staffing conferences.  She has worked on over 100 educational conferences, and numerous committee meetings for the Texas Center for the Judiciary and the Judicial Section of the State Bar.  She has coordinated projects such as the Judicial Bench Book and the Texas Center's website.  She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Edward's University, Austin, after attending Texas A&M and Blinn Junior College, both in College Station, Texas.  While at Blinn she took all the history, sociology, anthropology and other science classes that were available.

Lacy is very good with anything electronic and can fix both hardware and software problems. The bottom line is that Lacy is a project manager with a good understanding of administration, electronic data, and most of all dealing with people.  "I have 1100 judges that I deal with all the time.  Need I say more?!"
