The Dormitories

Learn more about the entire SHUMLA School campus.
The Dormitory building at the SHUMLA School campus has been completed. This structure—located just west of the Pavilion—is made up of two 16 x 32-ft rooms with a 4-ft porch along one side, and will be used to house students during overnight programs. It will also be used for classes during inclement weather. Funded by a grant received from the Albert and Ethel Herzstein Charitable Foundation, this building will be named in honor of Bill and Nina Merle Rios, longtime residents and community leaders of Del Rio, Texas. Construction was carried out by Dominion Engineering of Del Rio, owned by Tom Springfield and Gurvis Vernor.
