New Art Gallery

"The Bank and Trust's grand opening of the remodeled bank at 1200 Veterans Blvd. in early November also unveiled a new art gallery space and the works of Dr. Carolyn Boyd who is an artist and anthropologist. Her art includes the original painted renderings of several ancient rock art panels along the Pecos River. The largest is a 13-foot-long painting under glass, not pictured. The gallery is open to the public during normal banking hours. Shannalea Taylor, marketing director for The Bank and Trust, said the area will feature a local collector's exhibition of historic Christmas decorations. Boyd's works will be exhibited through December 1."

Part of the display were items included in a silent auction to benefit the Shumla School. The auction closed at the end of the day on November 30, 2004. Click here to see the auction items and the winning bids.
