Silent Auction
On November 4, 2004 The Bank and Trust in Del Rio, Texas unveiled its redesigned lobby. As part of the lobby renovation a gallery was incorporated where items of local interest, and works by local artists can be displayed. The first Featured Artist in The Bank and Trust Gallery was Carolyn E. Boyd, Ph.D. of the Shumla School. Carolyn's artwork hung through November 30th.
In conjunction with the exhibit three wall hangings painted by Dr. Boyd and a lovely ceramic candle holder by ceramics artist Kathleen Burgess were available through a silent auction. All four items illustrate the world-class rock art present in rock shelters west of Del Rio. Proceeds from the auction went to the Shumla School in Comstock, Texas. This auction continued through November 30, 2004. High bidders were notified at that time.
