The SHUMLA School is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, publicly supported organization whose mission is education through studying human use of materials, land, and art. Since our founding in 1998, we have been actively engaged in the development and implementation of numerous educational outreach projects. We have served over 10,000 adults and children through museum exhibits, educational camps for youth and adults, teacher training programs, public lectures and demonstrations. SHUMLA's operating budget is funded by tuition to Shumla Adventure programs, private donations, in-kind giving, grants, and endowment earnings. Your contribution to SHUMLA will ensure continuation of our educational goals. SHUMLA has been very grateful for the countless number of hours donated by friends from across the state. Each year we receive between $50,000 to $100,000 in in-kind gifts. This has been invaluable to the success of our programs thus far. If you are interested in working as a volunteer instructor, camp counselor, or you have talents in other areas that you feel would be of help to our organization, we would love to hear from you. For information about SHUMLA events, or to volunteer for programs, contact us at info@shumla.org or at 432-292-4848. |
